Play it forward # 2

What a happy and incredible ROUND 2 of Julie's successful "Play it forward Circle!

The ten new and excited Grade 4 children from Lourier Primary had an opportunity to "work" (=craft and play) with Julie Frankenfeld (who proved to be a natural at volunteering!). Creativity pure - once a week for 8 weeks!

Having learned from our first "Play it forward" Circle we knew even better what the children want and need and laid the focus on Arts & Crafts. Particularly successful was everything that involved food - so apart from receiving sandwiches for every session, there were three food-craft sessions amongst the 8. Well, the pasta-skeleton's couldn't be eaten (but made great educational pictures - see below!) - but the biscuit-lollipop session (1) as well as the waffle-butterfly session (8) came out tops in the children's feedback!
Another session saw all the children crafting pompoms and using them to create their own "Throw-and catch" game. It was amazing to see how focused the children were whilst creating their very own toy! The two paper-mache sessions were also very well received and we can't wait to snatch some nice pictures of this activity in Julie's 3rd term "Play in forward" Circle.
