The One Song Circle

Nonkululeko “Nkulee” Gwele's connection to Sisanda FunDaytion has gone the full circle!
From being a 17-year-old teenager taking part in and benefiting from a Sisanda Programme in 2012 to being a leading volunteer for the same programme in 2014 – we love following Nkulee's enthusiasm and talent!

During the preparations of a Dance-show in July 2012, we 'accidentally' discovered Nkulee's beautiful singing voice. Fast-forward 2 years and here we are at the beginning of Nkulee's very own project: THE ONE SONG CIRCLE!

Together with seven 11-13 year old girls from Izandla Zethemba in Thambo Village – and the help of 16-year old (and very musically gifted) Bishops student Rhiyaan Smith, this talented group is preparing a beautiful song to be sung at the Kidd House Variety Concert on 28th August 2014. We couldn't wipe the smiles off our faces as we were listening to the first practice – and are super-excited and looking forward to the outcome in six weeks time!

The Kidd House Variety Concert itself will assist us in raising funds for our programmes. Guess who is on top of our beneficiary-list to spend these donations on again? Yes. Izandla Zethemba!

We will post more pictures and hopefully an audio recording after the show, so you too can go the full Circle: from reading about this project to enjoying the musical talent of “The One Song Circle”!
