Fire Station Fun Day
We teamed up with Media 24 for our last Fun Day and took 29 lovely young children from Ikhaya le Themba to the Roeland Street Fire Station. The fireman on duty on the day were incredible and put so much effort into educating the children on important facts regarding fires and also entertaining them with rides on the fire truck and hoses. It was a great experience for all of us and definitely one that the children will remember forever, they left with lots of knowledge and excitement.
We then headed to the Eagle Eye Spur where we received a warm welcome, great burgers and lots of treats for the children. Our day finished off with a short hike in Newlands Forest , everyone enjoyed the scenery and answered a few questions about the forest and the surroundings.
The day was fantastic and we have Media 24 and our volunteers to thank for it. Media 24 worked hard to raise funds for the day and our volunteers were great role models on the day.
Thank you to Abi Dales for capturing some exceptional moments from the day, also a big thank you to the fire man on duty you guys were very inspiring.
To our main sponsors HCI, Spur and Truworths, thank you once again for contributing towards a very successful day, Sisanda and all the children are very grateful for your help and support.
