Fish Hoek Beach

Linawo and Marsh Memorial

Fall in Love with Fish Hoek Beach

This year’s Valentines morning was not looking good for a beach day with the weather being overcast, windy and signs of rain… but this did not stop Sisanda from taking a group of lovely children ranging in ages from 6-17 years old from Linawo Home in Pinelands and Marsh Memorial in Rondebosch to Fish Hoek beach. Our amazing volunteers were in good spirits and didn’t let the weather bother anyone, we spent the morning swimming, playing soccer, building sandcastles, making shell necklaces and playing some games. It was great to see the children making the most of the outdoors and taking advantage of Cape Town’s most beautiful attractions despite the sun only coming out later in the morning.
After an active 3 hours on the beach it was time for some well-deserved food, so we headed over to Golden River Spur for lunch and were welcomed by very friendly managers. The children enjoyed the good food, entertainment and ice creams before we all hopped back on our Golden Arrow bus and made our way home.
Many thanks to Fish Hoek Lifesaving club for providing two life guards to keep an eye on the children in the water. Also to Kodak Express in Fish Hoek for printing our photos for free, we really appreciate your kind support. And to the 14 energetic volunteers from Sisanda and the children, thank you.
Our main Sponsors, HCI/Golden Arrow, Spur Foundation, National Lottery Board and Truworths, You are all amazing supporters of Sisanda and put so many smiles on so many faces, we appreciate all your incredible generosity.
