Fun and Games at the V&A Waterfront
Sisanda had a magnificent day last Saturday 23rd May at the V&A Waterfront. The reason why the day was so amazing was thanks to our dedicated volunteers from OBrien Recruitment and the fact that we had such gorgeous children from SA Kinderhuis and Leliebloem. With everyone so excited about the day the Amazing Race we had planned to get everyone going was a lot of fun and the four teams raced around making sure they completed all five activities. Once all four teams had completed their tasks we headed off to Scratch Patch and cave golf for some fun and games. As one of the main attractions at the Waterfront being the Cape Big Wheel the children could not stop talking about how incredible it would be to go on the ride. OBrien decided to make this happen and generously bought all the children tickets for the ride, the children did not stop smiling from beginning to end and couldn’t believe the views they experienced.
After a very busy morning we ended up at Santa Ana Spur for a big burger and chips followed by ice cream, thanks to all the staff for their amazing and friendly service. The volunteers and children really formed some close bonds on the day which made the goodbyes very emotional.
A huge thanks to OBrien Recruitment for a very special day, I really think the children will remember the day forever. Also to our Activity Leaders thank you for all your help and energy. Thanks to Audiolens for printing our photos and Scratch Patch for accommodating us.
Lastly we could never have such successful days without our main sponsors and for this I would like to say that we are forever grateful to Spur Foundation, Truworths, HCI Foundation and The National Lottery for all the support.
